AFI’s Davey Havok To Join No Doubt Members And Form New Supergroup

From D.R.U.G.S to The Hollywood Vampires to Hellyeah and the Damned Things, there’s no denying that rock supergroups – whether you’re a fan of the previous bands or not – are some of the coolest things to happen in music.

Proving just that, in a huge surprise announcement today on Billboard, No Doubt members Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young have revealed they’ve been working on new material with AFI frontman Davey Havok – we’ll give you time to soak that it.

Yes, similar to how mid-2000′s act Audioslave formed (and yeah, Alter Bridge too), the not-yet-named outfit has essentially swapped pop fashionista Gwen Stefani for goth punk icon Havok.

With no real mention as to which direction the new band’s sound will be, we’re all left wondering whether we’re about to experience ska-version Havok or goth-formed No Doubt. Either way, it should definitely make for some interesting music.

In the meantime, leading up to the supergroup’s debut, you can stream Havok’s latest Blaqk Audio release (aka his electronic project with AFI member Jade Puget) below.
