City And Colour Share New Single “Astronaut,” Announce North American Tour

City and Colour fans! Today is a fantastic day as Dallas Green has just revealed plenty of exciting news.

Starting with the release of his first new song since 2017′s “Peaceful Road” and “Rain,” today the Alexisonfire guitarist/vocalist has premiered “Astronaut” from his soon-to-be-announced sixth studio album.

“‘Astronaut’ is a travelin’ song,” says Green. “It’s about living and trying to stay in the moment. It’s about the yearning to wander through this life and try to experience as much as possible while you can. Sonically, I wanted it to take you on a journey - because that’s what the song is about: The journey of being alive and aware; the ups and downs, the winding roads, but the hope that we’ll find our way.”

Adding more about the calming new track, Green commented, “I always think of the relationships in my life that have been fractured because I ended up doing what I do for a living. I’m always gone, wandering around and singing songs. However, it weighs on my family and friends. I’m asking for ‘one more year.’ I left home at 21 to go play my guitar. It’s lonely, but it’s because I yearn to wander. I’m aware of how lucky I am.”

In addition to the jammy new six-minute single, Green and company have also revealed a North American headlining tour. Featuring Ruby Waters, Ben Rogers and Jacob Banks on select dates, City And Colour’s headlining tour will kick off October 9th in Nashville and conclude November 29th in Halifax.
