Do you remember 2007? Apparently after a brief Google search, 10 years ago the Dixie Chicks ruled the music scene (the Grammys especially), Peyton Manning won his first Super Bowl, Lebron James lost his first NBA championship and Spider-Man 3 and Shrek the Third dominated the box office (clearly cinema gold at its finest).
However, as far as we’re concerned, the only important thing to come out of 2007 was On Letting Go – the influential second full-length album from experimental groovesters Circa Survive.
Taking the momentum of 2005′s debut Juturna, combining it with some freshly advanced musical vibes and packing it into twelve Anthony Green-lead tracks, the magnificent LP has been able to stand the test of time.
But you probably already knew that, didn’t you? As far as we know, you most likely have Esao Andrews’ stunning hot air balloon design tattooed on your calf, listen to On Letting Go on the regular, and are simply here to just see some photos of the band – which if are, is way cool with us so we’ll go ahead and speed this process up.
Currently out supporting their successful sophomore release (as well as it’s 10-year re-release), Colin Frangicetto, Brendan Ekstrom, Nick Beard, Steve Clifford and Green paid a visit to New York where our trusted photographer Max Stone was able to capture some impressive shots of the band in action – both on stage and during their intimate VIP acoustic set.
To experience the magic that is “The Greatest Lie,” “Living Together” and of course “The Difference Between Medicine and Poison Is In The Dose,” be sure to look below. Afterwards, make sure to pick up tickets to see Circa Survive out on the road with mewithoutYou and Turnover here.
