Photo Review: Here’s Why Parkway Drive’s Tour With August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada & Polaris Was One Of This Year’s Best

Look, before any of you keyboard warriors try and ruin this post, let us just say one thing: We really don’t give a shit whether or not you liked Parkway Drive’s latest boundary-pushing, genre-bending LP Reverence. That’s not what we’re here to discuss. Regardless of if the band is up on stage playing something new like their anthemic single “Prey” or an old-school fan-favorite like “Carrion,” what we do want to point out is that there’s absolutely no denying Parkway Drive is one of our scene’s best live performers.

Speaking on past experience as The Noise has been lucky enough to be a part of not one but two separate Parkway Drive headliners, there simply aren’t many bands who do it like them. From their flawless musicianship to the unmatched energy and passion they give on a nightly basis, Parkway Drive has time and time again proven why they’ve been able to master the art of controlled chaos for fifteen years now.

With all that said, when you take such a polarizing powerhouse like Parkway Drive and team them up with metalcore mammoths like August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada (plus newcomers Polaris), there’s no doubt in our mind you have yourself a pit-heavy night to remember. From start to finish, this lineup was as jam-packed as you can possibly get without venturing to some sort of festival. And for that reason, even though the tour ended last week, we still want to shine a light on one of this year’s best tours.

To check out some shots of the North American trek from Noise contributor Yeshua Flores, be sure to look below. Afterward, if you’ve yet to pick up Parkway’s smashing sixth full-length album Reverence, head here.
