Super Bowl 50 as Picked By Memphis May Fire, Dance Gavin Dance, Silverstein and More

Aw yes, the big enchilada. The colossal showdown. The Sunday, Sunday, Sunday football fans have been waiting for since… we guess, last year.

We’re of course talking about the Super Bowl. And, with this year marking the 50th year of shoulder pad on shoulder pad combat seeking the coveted Lombardi Trophy, this year’s Championship game will without a doubt be one of the biggest.

Gathered around the TV sucking down fried foods galore, millions will either be cheering on the young Carolina Panthers led by their MVP quarterback Cam Newton or the veteran Denver Broncos guided by their commercial-friendly signal caller, Peyton Manning.

While some anti-sports fans couldn’t care less about the outcome of this game, we’ve reached out to a few musicians who do to gather a little insight on how things might end up on Sunday.

To see what Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire, Shane Told of Silverstien, Tilian Pearson of Dance Gavin Dance and more had to say about this weekend’s match up, be sure to look below. Afterwards, make sure to tweet us @TheNoise and let us know who you have winning it all!

Matty Mullins (Memphis May Fire):

”I don’t know, dude. I’m just sad that the Seahawks aren’t there. The Panthers, they are so good. It’s unreal. They’re so good. I didn’t want them to be, I wanted the ‘hawks to crush them but they didn’t and I have to give respect where respect is due. So, I think I might be rooting for the Panthers.”

Shane Told (Silverstein):

“I think Carolina is gonna win. I think [Peyton] Manning has the brain but Cam Newton has the brawn. And I think in a game of football, no matter how smart you are, the brawn is gonna win – not Lebron, that’s basketball. Denver’s defense is pretty good and in Super Bowls people have the jitters or something ‘cause people make mistakes and drop passes, so I’m gonna go with Carolina 24 - Denver 10.”

Tilian Pearson (Dance Gavin Dance):

“I think the Panthers are going to create turnovers and then that’s going to put Cam [Newton] in position to score. So, they’ll be able to put up a little bit more points than the Broncos will be able to defend. Panthers 30 - Broncos 20.”

Justin Foley (Killswitch Engage):

“I’m mostly interested in watching the game to see which lasts longer, the national anthem or a Cam Newton celebration. Oh yeah, and Bud Bowl, ‘cause that’s still a thing, right? Bud Ice 35 - Bud Light Lime 10. Broncos 17-10"

Matt Marshall (Palisades):

“I noticed what really won the [AFC Championship] game vs. the Patriots was Denver’s defense. They really got to Tom Brady and he couldn’t stand in the pocket. Brady got a big first down run when they swarmed him but that’s not his game. Cam [Newton] can do that all day. Carolina 35 - 17”

Lee Runestad (I Prevail):

“I’m gonna take Panthers over Broncos 21-10. I’m rooting for Denver to win but I don’t think they have what it takes to stop the Panthers.”

Sean Chamilian (Runaway Kids):

“Los Angeles Rams 89-0.”
