The All-American Rejects Just Released An Epic 11-Minute Short Film For Two Brand New Singles

If you ever thought to yourself, “Hmmm, you know, I wonder what All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter would look like dressed as a woman propositioning people for sex out on the streets,” today is your day. In an epic return to the limelight, Ritter and company have just released possibly one of the most interesting music videos of 2017 for their first new songs since 2015.

Starting off with Ritter’s provocative foray into the world’s oldest profession soundtracked by the band’s upbeat single “Sweat,” the 11-minute Jamie Thraves-directed clip quickly turns dark as Ritter’s ripped back into reality as The All American-Rejects slow and synthy song “Close Your Eyes” begins. Without giving too much away, you’re definitely going to want to watch all 11 minutes below.

In regards to how the new tunes came about, Ritter recently spoke with Billboard saying, “When I was in L.A. with my feet at my little red piano, I established this relationship with a guy down the street named Benny Cassette. For ‘Close Your Eyes’ he had a handful of tracks – he is a great producer – and he called me up. I was like, ‘This is great. This makes me feel uncomfortable, you just proposing something like this, so send ‘em my way. I’ve never tried anything like this.” The closest I had ever gotten to co-writing before was with [Weezer’s] Rivers [Cuomo] for the Raditude record.”

Ritter continued to add, “Benny’s track had this groove where I felt like I was pulling myself back into the ‘90s in a fun way. Something felt really nostalgic about “Close Your Eyes” for me, so I went with it. Even lyrically, I’m proud of finding some sort of depth with that song that I don’t think I’ve grabbed on with previous Rejects tracks.”
