Watch PUP’s Nostalgic Video Game Lyric Video For “DVP”

After month after month of gushing over how excellent Canadian punk outfit PUP is, we didn’t think it was possible to love them anymore than we do now. Then, the rowdy four-piece went ahead and dropped one of the best lyric videos we’ve ever seen, and here we are again, totally losing our minds.

Featuring a handful of 90′s video games, everything from Pokemon, NBA Jam, Mortal Combat and Oregon Trail to Punch-Out!!, The Karate Kid, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and ToeJam & Earl, PUP and director Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux have single-handedly recreated our NES/Sega Genesis-obsessed youth in one incredibly jam-packed video.

Touching on the new clip, PUP drummer Zack Mykula admits to he and his bandmates’ early infatuation with video games saying, “The four of us grew up in the golden-age of spastic, seizure inducing video games (see: the 90’s).”

Mykula continued to add, “Our best bud Jeremy [Schaulin-Rioux] had the idea to smash together scenes from some of our favourite games in a hot pile of ADHD-insanity. Turns out that pairs really well with our music. Go figure.”
