Alternative / Grunge / Rock
While attending school in 2004, Australia natives, guitarists/vocalists Luke Boerdam and James Tidswell, bassist Luke Henery, and drummer Michael Richards, came together to form the band Violent Soho. The alternative rock band, with a twist of grunge, began playing shows and released their first EP, "Pigs & TV," in 2006. Two years later, in 2008, they dropped their debut album "We Don't Belong Here," which picked up national recognition and caught the attention of the label Ecstatic Peace, which the band signed with in 2009. That same year the band reworked their first album and added new music, creating their second album and U.S debut, "Violent Soho." Their third album, "Hungry Ghost," was released in 2013 in Australia and 2014 in the US, and was supported with touring, including Australia's traveling music festival Big Day Out. Most recently, in March 2016, the band released their fourth studio album "Waco," featuring the single "Viceroy."
