While getting back into the swing of things here at the office, we noticed a handful of exciting (and sad) news has been announced while we were away.
So, instead of pumping out article after article for you to comb through and catch up on, we thought we’d compile all the things you may have missed into one, easy-to-read post.
Let us begin:
Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister Dead at the Age of 70
While this is most certainly an unfortunate way to begin our list, we hope you all understand it’s definitely the most important. After 40 years of fronting one of heavy metal’s biggest acts, Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister has sadly passed away at the age of 70.
After struggling with his health and fighting through an “aggressive form” of cancer (especially on Motörhead’s latest tour which ended just two weeks before Lemmy’s passing), the rock icon is finally at peace leaving everything he possibly had out on the stage.
As most might expect, remaining members Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell have announced that without Lemmy at the helm, there will no longer be any more Motörhead moving forward.
RIP Lemmy.
Guns N’ Roses to Reunite at Coachella
Although nothing has been confirmed from either the band nor the festival, reports have surfaced that Guns N’ Roses will be reuniting at this year’s gathering of the hipsters (aka Indio, California’s annual Coachella festival).
With the always-anticipated Coachella lineup set to be announced any day now, longtime GNR fans better start looking for resell tickets as the reported reunion will include both Axl Rose and Slash – which, for non-Guns N’ Roses fans, is a big deal since Slash’s last performance with the band was 1993.
For those unable to attend Coachella April 15-17 or April 22-24, rumors have also spread of a possible arena tour in the works.
Beartooth Release Deluxe Album with Four Bonus Tracks
Helping ring in the holiday season, Caleb Shomo and his rowdy crew of Beartooth bandits surprised fans Christmas Day by releasing a deluxe version of their debut full-length Disgusting.
The re-release, which was originally first put out in Japan only, includes two previously unreleased b-sides (“Finish Line” and “Give It Up”), a cover of “Blitzkrieg Bop” and a remixed version of their single “The Lines.”

In addition to the new release (and a bonus live performance of “Body Bag” featuring Crossfaith’s Kenta Koie), Beartooth also took part in Red Bull’s 20Before16 round up releasing yet another Disgusting b-side named “Sick Of It All.” To give it a stream, head to Red Bull’s website here or see below.
Green Day Stream Festive Happy Holidays Track
You know that feeling when you were younger and you rushed downstairs early Christmas morning to check your stocking only to find a pair of cozy-but-still-disappointing wool socks along with a few broken candy canes? (C’mon, we can’t be the only ones who experienced that.)
Well, we’re guessing that’s just how Green Day fans felt Christmas Eve when news broke of a brand new song streaming on YouTube.
While the festive holiday single entitled “Xmas Time Of The Year” isn’t poor per se, we’re pretty sure diehards were expecting something, well, different. With rumors floating around about a new album in the works, hopes are there will be new non-holiday themed Green Day songs released soon.
Until then, enjoy the new track above.
There Will Be A New Pierce The Veil Album in 2016
After much speculation and concern, Pierce The Veil fans can finally exhale as Fearless Records has confirmed the release of the San Diego natives’ fourth full-length record.
While no album title or release date has been shared just yet, supporters can rest assured knowing their lonely “The Divine Zero” single will soon be joined by new (hopefully just as good) Pierce The Veil music.
In the meantime, Fearless Records fans also have new music from Real Friends, The Word Alive, The Color Morale, I Prevail and more to look forward to.

Set to be released in March via Sumerian Records, The Black will be Asking Alexandria’s fourth full length and their first with new frontman Denis Shaforostov.
Neck Deep Release Live Video For “Smooth Seas Don’t Make Good Sailors”
Fresh off the release of their latest album Life’s Not Out To Get You, pop-punk heavyweights Neck Deep have released a brand new video for their single “Smooth Seas Don’t Make Good Sailors.”

Frontman CJ McMahon Leaves Thy Art Is Murder
Just weeks after wrapping up their, ahem, Noise Presents tour with Parkway Drive, Miss May I and In Hearts Wake, Thy Art Is Murder have announced that vocalist CJ McMahon will no longer be a part of the band.
Claiming lack of finances as a big part of his recent departure, McMahon also revealed that touring has taken a large toll on him and his family. To read a statement from the outspoken frontman, see below.
As for the remaining band members, they have announced that they’ll have Nick Arthur from Molotov Solution fill in on their upcoming European tour.
“With a mix of both negative and positive emotions, I inform you all that I have parted ways with my band Thy Art Is Murder. It has been a wild ride I have travelled to over 40 countries around the world and played alongside some of the worlds biggest and best bands, it brings me great sadness knowing I will never perform again for my amazing and supportive fans, this will be the hardest thing for me to deal with. My reasons for leaving: I spend too much time away from my fiancé , family and friends, touring has taken a massive mental, emotional and physical toll on me. One of the biggest reasons is money, I / we have been broke for years and being 32 years old I can’t live like this anymore. I am getting married next year and plan on having a family, these things cost money, to put the finances into perspective for you I /we have earned between $16k-$18k each over 6-7 years, I feel there is something massively wrong with this, I will not live like this anymore. I’m sorry to my fans that I have to go, I have loved you all and I thank you for believing in me supporting me. The money made from my closing down sale of my clothing label will be going to my wedding, I will also be selling my Northface stage jacket I have worn the last two years on stage via eBay soon to try to pay for my wedding for the people interested, again thank you for the love and support, Your Prince Of Darkness Cj”
The Word Alive Reveal Dark Matter Details
Kicking off 2016 with a bang, The Word Alive will be releasing their highly anticipated album Dark Matter March 18 via Fearless Records.
In regards to the new release, frontman Telle Smith expressed his excitement for the album stating:
“Dark Matter is the result of our most in-depth writing and recording session we’ve done, and is something we consider to be our most dynamic and expansive album to date. This record completely defines and expresses who we are, and where we are going, taking the listener to the darkest and most honest places our band has dared to venture.”
In addition to the album announcement, the metalcore veterans will also be hitting the road in February with Fit For A King and Out Come The Wolves. For tour dates and tickets, head here.
