Today the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their nominees for the class of 2015. Some notable musicians nominated are Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Lou Reed, The Smiths, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and NWA.
In order to become eligible for the HOF, artists must wait 25 years after their first album was released. So with Green Day’s debut EP 1,000 Hours coming out in April 1989 as well as Nine Inch Nails’ first album Pretty Hate Machine being released in October of 1989, both were eligible for the ballot.
Other artists rounding out this year’s nominations are The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, War, Kraftwerk, Sting, The Marvelettes, Chic, The Spinners, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bill Withers.
If you feel strongly about any of these acts and want to cast your vote to help see them in the Hall, you can do so, here.
