Look, instead of wasting your time with unwanted fluff, we’re going to make this easy for you: We love Microwave.
And no, that isn’t our lame attempt at a Brick Tamland impersonation, we absolutely adore Atlanta, Georgia’s up-and-coming rock outfit Microwave – especially their new single “but not often.”
Off their forthcoming split with the emo-influenced Head North, “but not often” – besides being Microwave’s first new track since 2014′s Stovall – might just be the band’s best work.
Constructed with a much more upbeat sound than their previous releases, “but not often” has an undeniable flair both shy scenesters and uptight hipsters can groove to together. Unquestionably cool and certainly fun, Microwave’s new single might just be our favorite of 2015.
To check it out for yourself, be sure to look below. Afterwards, make sure to not only pre-order the upcoming split – which hits stores October 9 via SideOneDummy and Bad Timing Records – but also pick up tickets to see Microwave out on tour with Have Mercy, Transit and Somos here.
