Well, damn. As expected with all the political turmoil bleeding through the streets of the United States, Ice-T and his Body Count crew weren’t just going to sit around and go unheard. Instead, in true Body Count fashion, the outspoken metal outfit have just dropped their heavy, politically charged single “No Lives Matter.”
Voicing his opinion on recent current events, Ice-T opens the band’s latest track saying, “It’s unfortunate that we even have to say ‘Black Lives Matter.’ I mean if you go through history, nobody really gave a fuck. I mean you kill black people in the street, nobody went to jail, nobody goes to prison, but when you say ‘Black Lives Matter’ and then you say ‘All Lives Matter,’ that’s like if I were to say ‘Gay Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter,’ or I say ‘Women’s Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter.’ You’re diluting what I’m saying. You’re diluting the issue. The issue isn’t about everybody. It’s about black lives at the moment, but the truth of the matter is, they don’t really give a fuck about anybody if you break the shit all the way down to the fucking dirty ass truth.”
Clearly, similar to their iconic single “Cop Killer,” the rapper-turned-actor really isn’t playing around when it comes to the absurdity going on today – as they shouldn’t.
