Hear August Burns Red Give System Of A Down’s “Chop Suey” A Metalcore Makeover

Fresh off treating fans to their annual Christmas Burns Red show, as well as an amazing cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas,” metalcore stalwarts August Burns Red are back with another gift for their listeners.

Coming in the form of another cover track, this time the Pennsylvania natives have ditched the holiday theme and gone straight for a hard rock classic – System Of A Down’s “Chop Suey.”

Elaborating on their decision to tackle such a beloved track, not to mention one with clean vocals, guitarist JB Brubaker said, “After years of playing ‘Chop Suey!’ over the PA system right before we took the stage at our shows, we decided to take a crack at the song ourselves. This is truly one of the most legendary rock/metal songs of all time and it was so much fun to cover.

Brubaker adds, “I’m especially proud of our singer Jake and our bassist Dustin. We haven’t done much clean singing in our music and this song showcases our vocalists in a whole new way.”
