Well everybody, after waiting more than two and a half years, the day has finally come. Following up the release of their sensational LP Dealer, alt-emo outfit Foxing has finally revealed plans to release a new album.
Titled as Nearer My God, Foxing’s highly anticipated third full-length album will officially hit stores August 10th via Triple Crown Records.
In addition to the album news, Foxing is also treating fans to an epic sci-fi short film for their new Alt-J-meets-Grouplove like track “Slapstick.”
When asked about the video, director Josh Coll says: “Movies like Ridley Scott’s Alien and John Carpenter’s The Thing have such impressive practical creatures propelling so much of the plot, despite having such little screen time. In that regard, I really like that [in this video] the relationship between The Botanist and The Plant was established long before the video starts.”
Coll went on to add, “When you have five minutes to tell a story, the how’s and why’s of the narrative quickly become the most inconsequential elements –– audiences are imaginative enough to fill in the backstory. What matters is that our two characters –– who are clearly alone in the bunker –– are friends who depend on each other for survival.”
Now that’s not all ladies and gentlemen. In addition to the new album, new song, and new video – as if you needed any more excitement – Foxing has also announced a headlining North Amercian tour kicking off August 26th.
