Just days away from kicking off their summer tour with Attila, Crown The Empire, Veil of Maya and more as a part of the second annual Rage Fest, Alabama hardcore outfit Gideon are ushering in a new era for the band as they have just announced their fifth studio album.
Titled Out Of Control, Gideon’s long-awaited follow up to 2017′s Cold is set to be a reawaking for the longtime noisemakers as they unleash a new message behind the band.
Speaking with The Noise about the difference between Out Of Control and Cold, guitarist Tyler Riley said, “I’d say the biggest difference [was that] Cold was the last time that we will ever probably do this, but we were still kind of being careful about what we were writing about or what kind of risks we were writing or how hard we were going into our hobby-level talents. Because there are certain things that you do when you’re at home that you’re probably even better at than what you play on the road when you’re playing in the same band this long.”
Riley went on to add, “So along with us deciding that we didn’t care what anyone thought about what we were writing lyrically, because that’s a big theme in this album, we also decided to do the same thing musically. Once we started, we were like, ‘Man, this really works not holding yourself back and just writing what you think is sick and what you know is going to be sick.’ So I’d say that’s the biggest difference. It’s just we, kind of, in a way have taken off our shackles a little bit and we’re just kind of going wild with it.”
