This Saturday on idobi Radio, we’re very excited to announce we’ll be airing our exclusive interview with The Word Alive frontman Telle Smith.
Talking with the longtime vocalist about The Word Alive’s new approach to their recently released album Dark Matter, Telle let us know it’s slightly off-putting when listeners don’t view a musical change in a positive way.
“Yeah, I think [change] should be [seen as] positive. I mean look, if you support a band to where they can make 10 albums, they’re gonna experiment with things but they’re always going to end up doing what the majority of their fans have fallen in love with. So, you know, [if there’s] one album that [fans] might consider bad because it’s not exactly what they want, they might not get the record they really want unless they support [a band] experimenting.”
Telle continued to add, “I know that sounds like a pretty bias viewpoint of that situation but, to me, the more musicians and a band experiment [the more] they’re gonna find what works for them and what works for their shows, for their fans and it’s gonna be a collective thing that overall just works.”
To check out the full interview with Telle discussing his fandom for the Dallas Cowboys, his thoughts on the wild world of streaming music, The Word Alive’s upcoming summer on the Vans Warped Tour and much much more, tune into idobi.com/radio from 4-5pm PST // 7-8pm EST this Saturday.
