After blowing everybody away back in 2016 with their debut EP I Hope You Don’t Make It Home, Afterparty (which features current and former members of Stray From The Path) are back with a brand new batch of tunes.
Titled as On My Way To Hell, the Long Island pop-punk outfit will be self-releasing their new seven-track EP March 16th.
“Afterparty has always been an extension of myself. A way for me to be creative in a different light than most people are used to seeing me,” says vocalist/guitarist Andrew “Drew York” DiJorio. “I have always loved simple four chord progressions with a melody and a hook. Pop & Punk music had a big influence on my life when I was growing up. I remember my mom would play Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, & Smokey Robinson songs driving around Long Island in the summertime. I fell in love with punk rock when she brought my brother and I to Woodstock 1994. I was only seven years old, thanks Mom.”
DiJorio went on to add, “After seeing Green Day for the first time, I knew that I wanted to be in a band and be on stage. I had a vision and a dream & I followed it. [Whether] you respect this project or not, a lot of time and effort went into making this EP.”
As for getting to see DiJorio’s side project live and person, the outspoken vocalist says, “Afterparty Is a side project and not a full-time band. So to everyone who asks me ‘When is Afterparty touring?’ the answer is still the same….not anytime soon. We play shows when we can and when the opportunity is presented to us. To everyone who supports this project and has been patiently waiting we are happy to announce the release of our second EP. Go preview & pre-order it RIGHT NOW on iTunes. Keyword search: afterparty on my way to hell. Thank you all so much.”
