After a successful run of tour dates in 2016 out on the Vans Warped Tour and opening up for bands like Every Time I Die and Beartooth, New Jersey newcomers Old Wounds had quite the momentum going for them. That is, until previous vocalist Kevin Iavaroni announced his surprise exit from the band.
Now four weeks since Iavaroni’s departure, the hardcore outfit has officially revealed their newest frontman – which, for those familiar with the band, isn’t really all that new.
Announced today, taking the place of Iavaroni will be the band’s drummer Brandon Gallagher who actually fronted Old Wounds prior to Iavaroni’s arrival. And, as if that wasn’t interesting enough, taking over behind the kit will be Matt Guyre who was the band’s additional guitarist during last year’s tours.
So for those a bit confused, to sum that up, taking over on vocals is Old Wounds drummer/previous vocalist and sliding in on drums is Old Wounds’ previous guitarist – mind-bending, we know.
With all that said, Old Wounds is planning to release new music this year and have shared a brand new teaser video which you can check out below. The band is also heading out on a short run of tour dates with Exalt, Safe To Say,
Seizures and more. For tickets, head here.
