Great news Mayday Parade fans! No, the band hasn’t announced a follow up to 2018′s Sunnyland. Instead, frontman Derek Sanders has just revealed plans to release his first-ever solo EP.

Set to hit stores this Valentine’s Day via Rise Records, Sanders’ new five-track EP will be titled My Rock And Roll Heart.

Talking about the exciting new acoustic effort, the Mayday vocalist said, “When I started getting into music, I got an acoustic guitar when I was ten years old. I spent all of my time with that guitar, just learning to play and writing my first songs. I’ve been in so many bands since then, and it’s cool to go back to playing acoustic and singing the way it all started.”

As for the songs Sanders chose to cover for his upcoming release, he said, “All of the songs on the EP are ones I was listening to at 15 or 16 years old. I was like, ‘I gotta do a Saves The Day song, I have to do a Jimmy Eat World song.’ It was very nostalgic.”
