In support of their forthcoming full-length album Makes Me Sick, pop-punk pioneers New Found Glory are doing their absolute best to actually make fans sick via their brand new music video for “Happy Being Miserable.” Okay, not actually sick but pretty damn close as the entire video centers around everyone puking on each other similar to the 1986 classic film Stand By Me.
“NFG has always done a lot of pop culture movie references throughout our career, from cover songs to t-shirt spoofs” explains guitarist Chad Gilbert. “So, with our album being called Makes Me Sick, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to take that iconic scene [from Stand By Me] and give it our own spin. Or maybe we just wanted to show that all bad situations can have a redemptive outcome if you let it. Are you just gonna let life puke all over you? Or are you gonna look beyond yourself, pull people together, and celebrate being alive.”
