While stuck in quarantine we’re sure there have been a lot different emotions running through your body lately – sadness, anxiety, confusion. Another feeling we’re sure you’ve all come across at least once or twice is pure anger and hatred.
If you’re on the hunt for something to soundtrack that inner rage you have boiling inside of you, look no further than the irate new EP from Texas act PISSPOOR.
Titled You Were Born To Die A Sinful Lamb, the new seven-track effort from the metallic hardcore group carries a very meaningful message as it focuses on sexual abuse within organized religion.
“You Were Born To Die a Sinful Lamb is the narrative of vengeance incarnate delivering retribution upon someone in religious authority who abused children,” explains the band. “In 2016, over 57,000 children were the victims of sexual abuse. (RAINN) In 2019, of the 1,700 priests accused of sexual abuse in the US, none were further supervised by religious or law enforcement after the incidents and are still allowed to work with children. (NBC) One of the most heinous acts imaginable committed by those trusted with authority.”
The band adds, “If you or a loved one are a victim of abuse or assault, child or not, we stand with you. Their crimes will not go unpunished.”
