Despite it being December and “the most wonderful time of the year,” it’s important to remember there are still crucial things in this country that need fixing.
From government corruption to police brutality, Denver heavy-hitters Colony Collapse are looking to remind listeners there’s still plenty of work left to be done with their bruising new single “Class Cult.”
Commenting on the new track featuring Oceano’s Adam Warren, vocalist Noah Khorey says, “This is a song we’ve been trying to write for some time now. There was a lot we wanted to say; from racial injustice on down to the prison industrial complex, war, greed and classism. As well as our own role in all of it.”
“To speak up properly,” he adds, “we had to not only call out those who actively maintain systems of oppression, we also had to recognize our complicity in them.”
As for the addition of Warren to the skull-splitting song, Khorey notes, “We’ve been a fan of Adam for years and had no doubts he would kill the track vocally but it was his dedication to the issues that made us really want to collaborate with him. He’s one of the most outspoken members of the scene and was heavily involved with the process early on as we tried to bring this song to life.”
