Whether or not you’re an avid drinker, there’s a very likely chance you know someone close to you who is currently dealing with some sort of alcohol-related addiction. With over 15 million people in the US struggling with alcohol dependency resulting in over 88,000 deaths per year, it’s important to take a step back and look at our society to see how it plays a part in spreading this dreadful disease.

Doing their part to help open people’s eye’s to the destructive nature of alcoholism, Atlanta deathcore act Vacant have just released their new hard-hitting single “Pride.”

“[’Pride’] is about alcoholism and how it’s glorified in Western culture kind of to the point of creating an addiction that damages friendships/relationships,” explains vocalist Jaden Patrick. “Really the song kind of speaks as if the issue is personified as some sort of demon, or possessing factor of people, whose lives have been ruined. We recorded it with Jesse Kirkbride and Chris Whited back in December with some previous members who helped write it.”
