With less than 35 days to go until the start of the new year, are there any 2018 goals you’ve yet to achieve? Maybe you wanted to lose 10 pounds? Possibly quit smoking? Or maybe you just wanted to ask out that hot tax accountant, Steve? Either way, with the year quickly winding down, it’s important to forget about any past excuses and focus on the now.
Helping motivate us (and hopefully you too) to live in the present and strive for better days, LA rock outfit The New Pacific is teaming up with The Noise to premiere their ambitious new rock anthem “Yesterday.”
Speaking about the powerful new track, the seasoned four-piece said: “The lyrical inspiration [for ‘Yesterday’] is definitely rooted in moving against the status quo and getting too comfortable in one place. The idea of ‘Yesterday’ is just that – it was a day before today and we’ll never be able to go back and live in that day and we’re never guaranteed a tomorrow. The change in our lives happens in the present and that’s where we’re trying to focus the energy of change."
The band went on to add, "’Yesterday’ is a song that’s all about being present in the here and now and making moves away from our past selves. We all get so tied up in identifying ourselves by our pasts but that time is behind us. The real measure of movement is in leaving the past behind and making strides to a better future. Change happens in the present and there’s no time like right this second. Make a move.”
