Releasing an album during quarantine isn’t exactly ideal for anyone but for post-hardcore act Picturesque they’re doing their best to make it work.
Today, teaming up with The Noise to help support their latest release aptly titled Do You Feel O.K?, the Lexington, KY act is sharing their brand new lyric video for their stripped-down track “Day By Day.”
Detailing how the emotional song came together, frontman Kyle Hollis said, “We were in LA writing with some friends and Curtis [Peoples, co-writer] starts playing the chord progression. It was kind of the first thing that came out of my mouth. It had a few lyrical revisions and we finished it up in Kentucky.”
Hollis adds, “I feel like the song is pretty straight forward on what its about and is pretty personal, but as far as what it means for us as a band, I’m not really sure. When it comes to songwriting, we kinda just do whatever we want now.”

Congrats on dropping Do You Feel O.K?! How strange was it to release a new album with everything going on in the world right now?
Thanks! I personally think it was pretty weirdddd. I don’t think people are listening to music as much right now because most people listen to music on their way to work or at work. However, that did make it to where we could engage with fans more online.
Do You Feel O.K? is certainly a new era for Picturesque as you guys expanded on your sound more than previous releases. What lead you down that path to try out new things?
We’re different people than we were when the first record came out. Interests have changed and we’re in new different places in our lives. But for real, we just wanted to make some bangers and stopped caring about what they would be labeled as.
“Day By Day” is a prime example of you guys pushing genre boundaries. How did that song come together and what does it mean for you personally?

Moving forward, do you anticipate Picturesque switching things up even more?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Probably. Our music kind of depends on what mood were in. We didn’t approach this record with the mindset that we wanted to try certain elements. The only goal was to make some really cool songs and I think the mentality will be the same moving forward.
What does the rest of 2020 have in store for Picturesque?
Staying inside and waiting for the day we can tour again!
