Beware all hopeless romantics. With Valentine’s Day less than 24 hours away, it’s important that before you accept any gifts or roses from potential suitors, you really get to know that person first.

Call us old fashioned, but if movies, TV shows, and even music videos have taught us anything, you never know what your soon-to-be sweetie might have in store for you on the most passionate day of the year.

Showcasing a definite worst-case scenario for any Valentine’s Day date is SoCal rock outfit Rival Tides via their brand new music video.

Set to their Anberlin-like track “Sore Neck” taken from the band’s latest LP My God Is Fire, Rival Tides’ new video demonstrates that you never really know who or what you’re getting yourself into when you put yourself on the market.

“‘Sore Neck’ is inspired by cliché, yet all-too-real scenes in LA and Hollywood,” says the band. “Dating or even just socializing can be a total pain with each interaction becoming more draining than the last. The video, directed by Robyn August (I the Mighty, New Years Day, Escape the Fate), stars Liya Shay escaping from someone… or something. Those we thought we could trust can sometimes take us by surprise.”
