In case you’ve burned through everything Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime have to offer and you’re currently on the hunt for some new rock-related documentaries, we have great news! There are two new films hitting theaters soon that we highly recommend you check out.
First on the list is a female empowerment film by director Suzy Harrison titled, So, Which Band Is Your Boyfriend In? The film, which is showing in select theaters throughout Europe, follows the story of over 35 different musicians as they detail their experience with gender inequality in the DIY UK music scene. Second on the must-watch list is for all the metalheads out there. Based on the 2012 book Murder in the Front Row: Shots from the Bay Area Thrash Metal Epicenter, director Adam Dublin zeroes in on the local scene that helped spawn tons of huge bands like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus, Testament and more. Titled as Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story, the new metal documentary will have a special screening April 20th in the Bay Area and will coincide with a Metal Allegiance performance at the nearby Fillmore.
