Sit Back And Chill With Can’t Swim’s Calming New Track “Quitting”

In preparation of pleasing everybody’s eardrums nationwide via their debut LP Fail You Again – which hits stores March 10th on Pure Noise Records – New Jersey outfit Can’t Swim have just shared their third new single titled “Quitting.”

Slowing things down as compared to their two previously released singles “We Won’t Sleep” and “Stranger,” “Quitting” is a mellow, much more indie-leaning track which apparently was recorded pretty interestingly according to guitarist/vocalist Chris LoPorto.

“’Quitting’ came together in a quite peculiar way,” explains LoPorto. “I had the first part of the song written for a while but when I showed the guys they thought it needed a more anthemic ending. We were already in the studio at the time so I walked into the other room to try and write some lyrics for it. I had been recording vocals all day, so the microphone was accidentally left on. When I walked back into the room to show the guys my progress, the mic picked up the conversation, and if you listen closely we put that exact clip in the bridge of the song. It’s one of my favorite songs off our new record cause we all sang on it and we all were a part of the writing [process]. I like that it’s a change of pace from the rest [of] the songs and gives us another dynamic to explore when we play live.”
