Just when you thought last year’s ripper Acts of Fear and Love was the only music you’d be getting from UK act Slaves for a while, think again as the noisy rock duo has just released a new surprise EP.
Titled The Velvet Ditch, according to vocalist/guitarist Laurie Vincent, Slaves’ new four-track EP centers around all different types of subjects and musical genres.
“The Velvet Ditch is four songs from four different corners of our band,” says Vincent. “This EP was us approaching small town mentality, destructive behavioural patterns, and the mental cycles that can be such a struggle for us all to break. The dark recesses within all our minds and how to keep them at bay is what we were exploring through these different styles of music.”
