The Sound Of Animals Fighting, otherwise known as the (sometimes) masked supergroup featuring Anthony Green, Matt Embree, Rich Balling, Matthew Kelly, Chris Tsagakis, Steve Choi, Jonathan Hischke and others, played their first live show last week in almost five years. Let us repeat again that for those of you who aren’t fully paying attention: Last week at Los Angeles’ historic Wiltern Theater, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ALMOST FIVE YEARS, the supergroup known as The Sound Of Animals Fighting took the stage to a sold out crowd of over 1,500 people.
Playing a sixteen song set from their brilliantly odd three-album discography, fans were treated to a show many thought would never happen again. Joined by fellow thought-provoking alternative outcasts Planes Mistaken For Stars, the night, as you probably guessed, was a cosmic collection of chaos and flawless musicianship.
Now betting that a handful of you were probably unable to attend the show, thankfully, Noise contributor Amanda Canton was in attendance capturing dozens of mesmerizing photos for all us to look back on and imagine what it was like to witness “Act I: Chasing Suns” and “The Ocean and the Sun” live.
