In support of their 2015 release A Head Full Of Moonlight, Good Tiger (aka the ex-TesseracT, ex-The Safety Fire, ex-The Faceless supergroup signed to Metal Blade Records) has just dropped a brand new music video for their track “Aspirations.”
Like most of the band’s visuals (see “Where Are The Birds” or “Snake Oil”), the new clip is a well-shot and well-thought out piece which, according to guitarist Derya Nagle, came together through popular UK director Stuart Birchall.
“The concept was really driven by the director Stuart Birchall,” explains Nagle. “[He’s] done Bring Me The Horizon, Architects and a lot of other bands out in the UK. Having the shallow shots of Elliot [Coleman, vocals] against these stark and desaturated looks of an empty house and the girl and the kind of abject imagery that goes with that set this mood of distance, longing and being alone, essentially—and the kind of issues that come with that.”
Nagle continued to add, “The imagery is kind of built around the idea of the main figure—the self—being godlike. That’s an introspection into the potential downfall of what that kind of experience could actually lead someone to feel like.”
