For anyone who says moms aren’t metal, you can go fuck off right now. Becuase let’s face it, regardless of whoever or whatever got you into metal music, if it wasn’t for your mom carrying you inside her for nine whole months and later birthing you out metal horns a blazin’, you would have never had the opportunity to hear the sweet, satanic sounds of bands like Black Sabbath or Judas Priest.
Plus, what’s more metal than giving birth? You know, with all the screaming, blood and absolute gore that’s going on. “Raining Blood,” anybody? Too much? Okay, moving on.
This past Mother’s Day, we sent Sacramento photographer Dillon Flowers to Slayer’s farewell tour to capture the band’s last ever visit to Northern California alongside Testament, Behemoth, Anthrax, and Lamb Of God.
As you’d expect, the show was absolute chaos and left those in attendance with a sore neck, a rearranged face, and blown out eardrums – but in a good way, of course.
To take a look at the jaw-dropping Mother’s Day performance from Behemoth, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, and the almighty Slayer, be sure to see below. Afterward, when you’re done telling your mom how much you love her, be sure to grab tickets to Slayer’s final North American tour here.
