Welcome back, everybody! We have a great #WeirdWednesday in store for you today.

If you’re new to this, today is the day we share some material that you may not find on your typical “hardcore blog.” So, before we begin, let us forewarn you: THERE ARE NO BREAKDOWNS IN TODAY’S MUSIC.

After listening to today’s batch of songs, be sure to tweet us at @thenoise and let us know which ones you enjoyed the most.

See you next week!

The Menzingers - “I Don’t Wanna Be An Asshole Anymore”

With Halloween coming up next week, why not feature a video with one of the greatest slasher film monsters of all time? Off their new album Rented World, The Menzingers have put together an impressive career thus far dating all the way back to 2006. Now with two full-lengths released through the well-respected Epitaph Records, these Pennsylvania gents are finally starting to get the respect they deserve.

Light Years – “Deadlines”

If you’re reading this Light Years, we think it’s pretty safe to say we all wish we were still 18 and that life was like a movie. So, thanks for reminding us. Besides the rude wake up call that some of our lives really do suck, Light Years’ “Deadlines” is a solid pop-punk track that a lot of newer bands can definitely take notes from. Their latest EP Temporary is in stores now, so you better buy it soon!

The Phuss – “I Don’t Feel Good”

Fuzzy garage rock performed in the key of punk is probably the best way to describe this three-piece out of Fort Worth, TX. Pronounced as The “fuss,” these rock and roll partiers like to play fast, loud and with a can of beer right by their side. Their latest EP On The Prowl is out now through Magnetic Eye Records and we strongly suggest picking it up.

Real Friends – “I Don’t Love You Anymore”

You’re witnessing a movement here, folks. If you haven’t already noticed the high volume of pop-punk that’s swept over The Noise lately, you need to open your eyes. Streamlining this pop-punk movement are bands like the one you see before you, Real Friends. Signed to Fearless Records, these dudes are tearing up the hearts of teens all across the world with tracks just like, “I Don’t Love You Anymore.” Their brand new album, Maybe This Place Is The Same And We’re Just Changing is in stores now.

Dear You – “Castles”

While the heartfelt sing-songy intro for “Castles” may not be some people’s style, once the song picks up, there’s no denying that it’s a damn good track. Hailing from Beaumont, TX, this emo-esque meets alt-rock trio really provides a great upbeat tune that fans of The Wonder Years and The Story So Far can really enjoy. Their latest EP I Can Only Blame Myself is available now on bandcamp, so pick it up now!
