Welcome back to #WeirdWednesday, everybody! Today is the first Wednesday of the month, so you know what that means: NEW MASCOT TIME!
This poor fella above is a prime example of those who get a little too rowdy listening to our #WeirdWednesday tunes. For those of you who are new and may not understand, today is the day we share some material that you probably won’t find on your typical “hardcore blog.” If you’re still confused, let us simplify it for you: THERE ARE NO BREAKDOWNS IN TODAY’S MUSIC.
Now, after getting your jam on to the tunes we have below, be sure to tweet us at @thenoise and let us know which ones you enjoyed the most.
See you next week!
Acid Baby Jesus – “Vegetable”
Okay, so before we even begin, it should be pretty obvious why this band made our playlist. With a name like Acid Baby Jesus, you shouldn’t be surprised they’re associated with a “weird” playlist. Anyways, moving on. Out of Athens, Greece, these groovy psychedelic rockers produce a sound both LA hipsters and Woodstock hippies can get down to. Their latest EP Vegetable is out now. We highly suggest checking it out.
Bleeding Knees Club – “Feel”
What else is there to say about the skate-pop duo Bleeding Knees Club besides, wow. We mean c’mon. First of all, their from Queensland, Australia - we didn’t even know Aussies got down like that. Secondly, they’re a duo - which is impressive no matter what genre you play. Lastly, they are beyond catchy. So, put it all together and you have the pretty impressive jam, “Feel.”
Cayetana – “Hot Dad Calendar”
While scrolling through today’s batch of beats, there’s a small chance you may have not recognized the name, Cayetana. That’s okay, we won’t hold it against you. However, it’s in your best interest that you don’t let it happen again. Why is that? Well, that’s because these three ladies are on the verge of blowing up and blowing up huge, that’s why. Now that you understand, go check out their lovely new album, Nervous Like Me.
Signals Midwest – “St. Vincent Charity”
If you’re going through tough times right now, there’s a chance this song will be the soundtrack to your life. Hell, even if you’re not going though tough times, this song could still be the soundtrack to your life. Yeah, it’s that good. As heartfelt as ever, Signals Midwest really let their emotions go with their track, “St. Vincent Charity.” For more songs like the life-changing tune above, be sure to check out their Wherever I Might Land EP on Bandcamp.
Runaway Brother – “Blueberries”
Everyone meet the post-punk up-and-comers Runaway Brother. They’re from Cleveland, Ohio, they make rad music and they’re signed to Tiny Engines. With their debut LP Mother set to come out soon, we expect to be seeing these guys a lot more in the future. For now, let your ears in on some “Blueberries.”
