After spending most of 2018 performing intimate stripped-down gigs in support of their acoustic album Acoustic Volume 2, punk outfit Bayside is looking to turn things up here in 2019 with their latest single “Prayers.”
Kicking off with a fat guitar riff that would make most metal fans headbang, Bayside’s first new song since last year’s “It Don’t Exist” might just be their heaviest track yet.
Talking about the inspiration behind the new single, singer/guitarist Anthony Raneri said, “We wanted a riff that acted as a musical theme to the song and once we wrote the ‘Prayers’ riff, it sort of told a story on its own. The drama and heaviness in that opening riff alone easily set the tone for the rest of the song.”
