In support of their sixth full-length album Broken, metalcore veterans Memphis May Fire have just released a brand new music video for their driving rock track “Heavy Is The Weight” featuring rapper Andy Mineo.
Speaking on the idea behind their new Caleb Mallery directed clip, frontman Matty Mullins said, “The idea for the video was to capture the vibe and emotion of the song in a live performance setting. We rarely do videos that are strictly live performance, but this song was a great opportunity to do so.”
“The song,” Mullins went on to add, “is about how hard it can be to remain purpose-driven and intentional with what you pursue when you don’t know who you can trust along the way. Trying to stay true to yourself when it feels like the world wants you to fail.”
As for how emerging Christain rapper Andy Mineo got involved on the song, Mullins explained, “Andy Mineo was the first person I thought of for the guest vocal on this song. The part just seemed perfect for his style. I’m a huge fan of Andy’s music, so it was an honor to collaborate on this one with him.”
