Happy Riot Fest day, everybody! After waiting for what feels like forever, the kind folks at the Chicago-based punk rock festival have finally (and we mean FINALLY) pulled back the cloak revealing their highly coveted 2016 Riot Fest lineup. And, as expected, the lineup is insane.
After taking a quick glance through the 100-plus bands invading both Chicago’s Douglas Park and Denver’s National Western Complex, we’ve come to a realization: Forget Coachella, forget Lollapolooza and forget Bonnaroo; Riot Fest is the best festival hands down.
Featuring the previously announced Misfits reunion (featuring Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein) along with Ween, NOFX, Death Cab For Cutie, Deftones, Nas, Descendents, Bad Religion, Underoath, Thursday, Glassjaw, Me First & The Gimme Gimmies and a whole bunch more, this year’s lineup was certainly worth the wait.
Also, not to mention, only making appearances at Riot Fest Chicago will be the likes of Morrissey, Rob Zombie playing White Zombie’s Astro-Creep 2000 in full, Social Distortion performing White Light, White Heat, White Trash in full, Pierce The Veil, All Time Low, Neck Deep, Method Man & Redman, The Hives and many more.
And for those only making the trip out to Colorado, don’t fret. The Denver-only acts are just as impressive including Jane’s Addiction performing Ritual De Lo Habitual, Sleater-Kinney, Hatebreed, The Aquabats, Converge, Tyler, The Creator and plenty others.
