Known for always doing the unexpected with their music videos – see the workout friendly “I Want To Kill You” – alt-emo outfit Citizen are taking things back in time for their latest clip.
Set to their vibey new single “Blue Sunday” taken from their upcoming album Life In Your Glass World, the band’s new video sees them vibe out Summer of Love style decked out in full hippie attire.
Elaborating on how the new track was put together, frontman Mat Kerekes commented, “The song came about once I wrote the bass and drums to the verse for ‘Blue Sunday.’ I sent it to the rest of the band and then we all got together to do the rest. Everything flowed naturally and it is one of my favorite songs on the record.”
As for the meaning behind the song, Kerekes notes, “It’s essentially about me never wanting to leave my house and although that makes me happy, it is bad for me in different ways.”
